One story in the news is that in China a green giant hand popped out the manhole to remind drivers of danger in the road. In which as a short story I can work round this to convert it into my own story.
Plot : 2 characters come out from a night club get in a car and as they are drunk they do not see the giant big hand and as they crash into the hand it throws the car deep over the main junction and they die.
USP: Will be the twist in the story where the giant hand will throw them over the main junction of the road which will add suspense to the story.
Characters: A man who is found in a nightclub meets a girl that has caught his eye and hopefully wants to take her back to his industry, the rest is self explanitory.
Location: An nightclub varying from the main road set in Spain
Technical features: Lighting - flashing lights, disco balls in the nightclub
Camera shots - Close ups, longshots, cutterway of the giant hand on the road etc.
Another story in the Alaska, Russia that a wild bear encountered a supermarket thrasing up all the groceries. A short film that I can make out of this is that I will have a bear intruding the streets that he storms in the supermarket in suspense that all he will do will kiss the manager of the grocery store.
USP: Will be the closing scene where he will kiss the manager in the suspense that he looks like he will psyshically harm the manager, then after he will go off to another shop in the same rage that he came in.
Characters: The out of control bear, passers by in the street, a series of cast in the supermaret and the grocery store manager
Location: The middle of london at rush hour times in the street, then following on to th supermarket
Technical features: Lighting will be black and white in the street then in thesupermarket will be colourful to brighten up the mood and the supermarket, which will then be alarmed by a shock. Sound effects short slow music then tempo will change to also create suspense. Camera shots: Cutterways, longshots, over the shoulder shots of the bear and the passers by etc.
Another story in the news which was recently present in the news was that an alien in the Amazon was captured on film in a car floating in the rainforest. A short film that I can make out of this is that the alien started to evolve into many aliens running riot smashing up everything that they set their sights on until they meet humans encounter to reclaim their authority
USP: Will be when the aliens encounter the humans, as it will be an unexpected twist and would make the audience want to see what would happen.
Characters: Aleins, Humans, reporters, camera man, driver
Location: Rainforest in Brazil
Technical features: Longshots, over the shoulder shots to capture surroundings, a shot similiar to 'Children of Men' where in a car captured every angle of the surroundings. Close ups capturing the evolved aliens. Mid long shots and cutterways will also occur during the story.
